Michelin-starred Spanish chef Santi Santamaria died in Singapore last night.
The celebrity chef was in town, alongside fellow culinary heavyweights such as Daniel Boulud, Guy Savoy, Mario Batali, Tetsuya Wakuda and Wolfgang Puck, for Marina Bay Sands' two-day grand opening affair.
In a most unfortunate turn of events, chef Santamaria collapsed during a media food tour in his restaurant, Santi, and later died.
As a champion for Spanish cuisine internationally, this marks a huge loss for not only the Spanish dining scene, but globally as well.
