Guns n’ Roses have announced that they will be returning to Bangkok for a one-night concert at Thunderdome Stadium on May 13.
This is pretty short notice for fans of the iconic 90s rock band—with their last Bangkok show announced four months before the concert—and pre-sale will begin on Mar 25.
With Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, and Slash, Guns n’ Roses defined the nineties rock scene, a band that somehow defied the standards of hair bands and metal to create sounds and hits that redefined “rockstar” status.
Famous for their hard partying, harder hits, and immortal ballads like “November Rain” and “Sweet Child of Mine”. The band’s dramatic antics made headline news throughout the late 80s, 90s and even early 00s—band grudges with Metallica, doing too much heroin to open for the Rolling Stones, Axl being famously awful to work with, and Slash
dying in a hallway for a while.
The band’s debut album dropped in 1987 with “Appetite for Destruction” that fueled the MTV generation. The band only ever released five studio albums, all of them to wild acclaim and sales, but the group split after the 1993 release of “Spaghetti Incident”.
They returned 15 years later with the “Chinese Democracy” album (which China
didn’t like one single bit). And, while this album—produced for $22 million—didn’t feature any of the original members apart from Axl, the tour garnered its fair share of controversy with Axl’s no-shows and riots. The aging rockers (Axl is now 63, Slash 59) have not released a new album but have been touring together since the “We're F'N' Back! Tour”.
The band’s last Bangkok show was in Nov 2022 as part of the “We're F'N' Back! Tour” and their latest tour is the “Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things Tour” which will kick off in South Korea on May 1. Tickets will be available through
