While long-standing Japanese department store Isetan is leaving Bangkok in August, the quirky Don Don Donki appears to be thriving. Following the opening of its first branch in Thonglor back in February last year, the tax-free Japanese discount megastore has opened its second branch in Bangkok at The Market shopping complex in Ratchaprasong. 

Spread over the first floor of the mall, the branch is said to be even bigger than its Thonglor sister, bringing shoppers a slew of high-quality fresh Japanese produce, snacks, dry foods, stationery and household items. Highlights include imported fruits like Daikouei red apples and Yu-beni strawberries, premium meats like Hakata beef steak and Kurobuta pork, as well as takeaways like salmon nigiri, and cold ramen with chashu pork. 

As a safety precaution during Covid-19, visitors will be asked to enter in rounds if it gets too busy. Hand sanitizer and temperature measurement will also be provided on entry to the store.  

Delivery is currently only available for the Thonglor branch.
