It’s long, steep climb to the top, but Skytrain Jazz’s rooftop location makes for a wonderfully urban feel. Munch on pub grub as the BTS rattles past, basking in the pale light of Century’s giant marquee. Singha beer is available from B145.

Kenshin Izakaya

The Huntsman

Located in the basement of Landmark Bangkok hotel, Huntsman boasts all the trimmings of a cozy British pub—a dark wood-paneled bar, chesterfield-style booths and large TV screens blaring sportscasts. Food follows the same gist: carb-heavy pub grub that goes great with beer. Stab into a juicy cottage pie (B350) or Cumberland bangers and mash (B380) while knocking back a pint of Singha draft (B250).

With warm decor that combines gentlemen’s club accents with a concrete backbone, Older presides over fusion food like the sun-dried kurobuta pork (B180), Thai-style salmon pate (B280) and pasta with cod roe (B280). Jam 

Nestled down a narrow lane, this small shophouse has all the hallmarks of a chill café by day, but with ample space for dancing and a large liquor shelf to help things get nicely raucous at night. Food-wise you’re looking at a mix of heavy pub food (fish and chips, a steal at B120) and burgers (try the signature Jamburger with locally sourced beef and red wine relish, B120). A soothing bottle of Singha will set you back just B100.

Dumbo 

Fairy lights and a large neon red “Dumbo” sign light up the mishmash of chairs overlooking the BTS, as guests munch on pastas (from B220) and Cheezy Lava Burgers (beef/pork, B320/250). This shophouse stakes out its space in leafy Sathorn Soi 11 with affordable, home-style Korean recipes and a friendly atmosphere. Try the fluffy kimchi fried rice (B395) with gooey cheese and chili for kick. The restaurant’s modest drink list includes Singha bottles from B120.
