YouTube sensation The Piano Guys are back—and you might have the chance to perform with them
Will you be the fifth member of the band?
Lovers of YouTube success stories, mark your calendars. Viral hit sensation The Piano Guys are returning to our little island to give a live show on Sep 25 at the Star Theater. This year, however, instead of just sitting idly in the audience, you might have the chance to stand by your idols and perform with them onstage.
More specifically, the four-member American music group is shaking things up, and looking for someone—anyone!—to be the opening act for their show. Their return in September marks the third show they've done in Singapore, after performing here in 2015 and 2013.
Comprising pianist Jon Shmidt, cellist Steven Sharp Nelson, videographer Paul Anderson and music producer Al van der Bleek, the group shot to fame on YouTube some seven years ago, and are now well-known for their self-made videos and music covers. Some of their most viral music videos on YouTube includes their breakout covers "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction in 2011, and many other popular songs like "Let It Go" from Disney’s Frozen and "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. Having now gained 6 million YouTube subscribers worldwide, the talented four are sure to bring their unique interpretations of familiar hits once more.
Besides the chance to be the opening act for The Piano Guys, the lucky winner will also be given a pair of tickets, autographed posters, and the opportunity to meet the men themselves after the show. To take part, all you have to do is take a video of yourself performing your best piece; more information about the contest (which ends Aug 20) is available here.
The Piano Guys are performing on Sep 25 at the Star Theater. Tickets are priced from $98 here.
