Kawita Vatanajyankur
Who: Performance video artist known for using her body as a metaphor for tools and machines. In 2017, her work featured in the “Islands in the Stream” exhibition at the 57th Venice Biennale in Venice. Pairoj Pichetmetakul
Who: Thailand-born street artist currently living in New York City, who paints striking portraits of homeless people. Since the project began in 2013, Pichetmetakul has made roughly 200 large and medium scale portraits. Pannaphan Yodmanee
Who: The Nakhon Si Thammarat artist is known for combining raw, natural materials such as rocks and minerals with found objects and painted elements of traditional Thai art motifs and architecture. Her abstract installations explore Buddhist philosophy, loss, suffering, and the Karmic cycles of death and rebirth. Her “Aftermath” exhibition was featured at Singapore Biennale in 2016. Tae Parvit
Who: An artist and illustrator whose paintings and drawings consist of rough but playful abstract character, emotions, music, people and objects are major influences. His “Afternoon Person” exhibition is currently at Bangkok CityCity Gallery through Jun 17, 2018. www.taeparvit.net
Korakrit Arunanondchai
Who: Bangkok-raised multi-disciplinary artist whose work combines performance, music, video and painting. Exhibitions at Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), New York in 2014, and at de Young Museum, San Francisco in 2017 under his belt, among other places. He works between Bangkok and New York.
