Why you should go now: Bangkok has many hotels, from boutique hotels to movers and shakers of the hotel scene, but if you can’t make up your mind, here is a list of hotels with stunning pools for you to destress and just float away to nirvana. Head over to Ratchada, home to the biggest trampoline park in Asia, trendy cafes and exciting nightlife options. Make your way through list of new bars and restaurants will tickle your fancy. If you’re looking for a chill night, then here are Bangkok’s best late-night cafes with free Wi-Fi, for all your social media needs.
How to get there: Fly via Singapore Airlines with their fare deal to Bangkok starting from $238 and the ticket sale period is still Mar 31 2017.
Ho Chi Minh City Skyline
The heart of Saigon makes for a perfect weekend getaway with its energetic atmosphere and rich heritage, with a mix of skyscrapers and French colonial buildings, temples and pagodas. Ho Chi Minh City has a lot to offer for a fun-packed weekend (we’re talking about some of the liveliest clubs and bars that the city boasts), and best of all you can experience just about everything the city has to offer without compromising on luxury.
Why should you go now: Make your stay at Villa Song Saigon, which boasts a saltwater pool and exquisite location right beside the Saigon River, or live like royalty at The Reverie Saigon. For local food, head to Cyclo Resto which offers some of the best-value food in town (you can get five local dishes for $9). Otherwise, visit Noir, which offers a dine-in-the-dark concept similar to that of NOX in Singapore. You can also visit the 5KU Station for the quaint experience of enjoying barbeque, beer and hot pot while sitting on a wooden box.
For drinks, Chill Skybar is one of the most popular night spots in the city - the rooftop bar is located on the 25th floor which gives visitors a stunning view of the whole city at night, and it’s worth mentioning that they have a dance floor in the bar for you to dance the night away. Apocalypse Now is also a popular haunt for expats and backpackers, and is known for its fun and slightly rowdy vibe. While you are there, be sure to attend the Saigon soul pool party which happens every Saturday from 10am-10pm. You can also head to Lush, one of the longest running nightclubs of the city - the top DJs of the country are usually found spinning there.
How to get there: Vietjet is giving regular promotions on flights with prices starting from $0 and regular prices from $100 so don’t fret too much if you miss their offers.

Hong Kong is perfect for a short getaway as it is only a four-hour flight and you get to finally don your reefer jacket or peacoat that has been collecting dust in your closet since it is the winter season.
Why you should go now: Make your stay at The Grand Hyatt, located in the heart of Wan Chai (five minutes from Central and Causeway Bay by car), boasting picturesque views of the Victorian Harbour. Head to Kowloon where shopaholics will be spoilt for choices, from the glitzy Tsim Sha Tsui district where it showcases big brands like Prada and Hermes to the bustling Mongkok district where you will be overwhelmed with a slew of street vendors selling all-kind-of-things, including the popular Ladies Market. One must be famished after a long day of shopping, so head down to seafood town aka Sai Kung, where it is home to fresh seafood. Head to Michelin-starred Loaf On, and savour the rich seafood flavours. If you’re looking for something more trendy, there is always SoHo in the Central district. For the art enthusiast, head down to the many art galleries in the vicinity such as The Cat Street Gallery and 10 Chancery Lane Gallery. For the revellers, there is a slew of bars and clubs, including Play Club, home to the cool cats Angel’s Share for whisky lovers, and nightlife behemoth, CE LA VI.
How to get there: Singapore Airlines is having a special promotion to Hong Kong, starting from $228 and the ticket sale period is till Dec 24.
Crawley Edge Boatshed
Australia is definitely the closest place we can go to if you’re looking to get out of Asia. And if you only have the weekend to spare, Perth is equally a great place to go. This highly underrated small city down under is just a five-hour flight away, and shares the same timezone as Singapore (yay, no jet lag).
Why you should go now: There's a special promotion to stay at the Sage West Perth hotel, located just 20 minutes from the city (it's $215 per night for two people on a minimum two-night say with complimentary breakfast and one-course dining. But apart from that, and the obvious winery and whale watching tours, Perth's burgeoning nightlife has slowly taken shape with some really exciting small bars, even though it took the scene a while to grow (the small bar license what introduced in 2007). If you love venues that take after America’s prohibition era, then you’ll love Ezra Pound. Situated along a small laneway, this seven-year-old bar can’t even be bothered to name their cocktails. For example, Number 1 is a concoction of gin, apple elderflower, lime, snap peas and bitters. And then there's Mechanics' Institute, a super chill bar lounge with pre-loved furniture and eccentric decor, which adds charm to this four-year-old joint. Bartenders are friendly, so feel free to speak to them about a bespoke drink. Next door is the raucous Joe's Juice Joint. This dive bar seemed to slip out of everyone's mouths when we asked the locals where to go for a good night. Downstairs, they play rock n' roll while country music is the name of the game upstairs. We have a couple of suggestions if you’re thinking of taking this one up.
How to get there: Scoot's fleet of 787 Dreamliners fly to Perth everyday at 1.10pm and have quite a fair bit of leg space, even for the Economy section. Their new dimming windows are much larger than usual and gives you control on how much light comes in. Return flights start from $141.
COMO Point Yamu
Picturesque scenery, breathtaking tropical sunsets and clear blue seas are just some of the things you can get at one of Asia's most prolific beach destinations. Phuket is definitely everyone's old favorite, partly because it's just an hour and a way plane-ride from Singapore. So if it’s been awhile since you went back, you might find that some of your favorite restaurants are now long gone, making way for newer, more hip ones. However, that gives more reason for you to check out all the new places in this jewel of the Andaman.
Why you should go now: Well, mostly to reminisce and relive your Phuket experience from years ago. Then again, amazing beaches and resorts aside, they're always having some sort of culinary and design renaissance to reward repeat visitors. On your next trip, head over to Chom Chan, a contemporary restaurant that sits in a renovated 60-year-old-home and garden in Phuket Town that's filled with Sino-Portugese touches. Run by the niece of the owner of the legendary Raya, the establishment's menu spotlights the island's staples like crabmeat yellow curry with rice vermicelli, somtam Phuket (papaya salad with shrimp paste) and pork crackling chili paste. Also check out Skye Beach Club, the first of its kind to arrive on the tranquil Nai Yang beach, part of Sirinat National Park. Catch the sunset or a great meal with bonus views of airplanes landing or taking off before the drinks start flowing. You might want to stay at COMO Point Yamu, a stunning hotel with 27 vast pool villas ranging from 170-620 sq meters. All rooms (equipped with a private butler) feature a largely white palette accented with aquamarines, Thai motifs and gray Sino-patterned tiles. Intrigued? Here are more options.
How to get there: There are a number of options available if you are planning to fly to Phuket with multiple airlines flying daily from Singapore. Budget airlines include Airasia, Tigerair and Jetstar who are pricing their tickets starting from $244. But if you are looking for a more luxurious journey, then our very own Singapore Airlines is there, which also has multiple flights flying daily with prices starting from $363.

Fondly known among locals as the “City of Joy”, Kolkata was the British colonial empire’s first city and boasts a breathtaking mix of culture and heritage. It might take you more than a weekend to discover the hidden beauty of this metropolitan city, but there’s still quite a bit you can do if you’re planning to head there for a short trip. It does get pretty cold during the winters, so you might want to pack your jackets and winter wear.
Why you should go now: There are a number of new hotels like JW Marriott and Novotel have opened up recently, but in order to get the true experience of Kolkata, the Taj Bengal (do try their mud pies) or the Oberoi Grand would be your best option as they sport an old-world charm through their British colonial architecture. Peter Cat (their chello kebabs are a must-try) and Mocambo are the two most famous restaurants of the city, but you can also check out Café Swiss’ brunch at Swissotel. For desserts, head to Fabelle at ITC for their wide range of chocolate desserts. The newly opened Monkey Bar is becoming a popular hotspot for drinks, and M bar is the new clubbing address for tourists and locals alike. For post-clubbing drinks, you can always head to Aqua in the park. While you are busy eating and drinking at these restaurants, don’t forget to catch the Christmas light-up at Park Street where most of these restaurants and bars are located. Of course, no trip to Kolkata would be complete without a visit to the Victoria Memorial, one of Kolkata’s most famous monuments.
How to get there: Air India’s subsidiary airlines, Air India Express have resumed their flights to Kolkata from Singapore after a hiatus of over six years. The Boeing 737 aircrafts will fly from Singapore at 3pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with return tickets starting from $365. But if you’re on a higher budget, then our very own Singapore Airlines is there to the rescue, which flies thrice weekly, with Silk Air flying on the other days.
High 1 Ski Resort. Photo Credits: High 1 Ski Resort
Winter means snow, and snow means skiing. If you are planning a short winter getaway, and feeling a little adventurous, then you’ll be glad to know that Korea celebrates ski festivals every year during the winter season. The festivals are celebrated primarily by three resorts, which offer a number of packages which range from 1D2N to more than four days.
Why you should go now: The ski festivals start around mid-December and run till February. YongPyong resort, High1 resort and Daemyung Resort Vivaldi Park are the three primary resorts which celebrate these festivals. Each resort offers accommodation packages of about four days, with opportunities to be a part of cultural festivals, take up skiing and snowboarding lessons and test your skills in skiing competitions. Depending on your skiing skills, you can choose from a variety of courses to sign up for.
Daemyung resort has thirteen slopes for you to practice on, as well as other fun activities like cooking classes and Korean food-tasting sessions for when you don’t feel like hitting the slopes. High1 resort has slopes catered to different levels of experience, a casino, and a golf course. YongPyong resort has cultural orchestra performances and also offers a freestyle skiing competition, which makes for an interesting change to the usual skiing and snowboarding competitions.
How to get there: Scoot’s 787 dreamliners are flying to Seoul with all-in flight fares starting from $200, with their new dimming windows along with comfortable leg space.
Lighthouse at Langkawi
If a quieter, more relaxing vacation sounds good to you, then Langkawi is the place to visit with white, sandy beaches and azure-blue waters that the "Jewel of Kedah” has to offer. The best part of this archipelago is that it’s duty free, and you can buy drinks almost anytime, as many of the convenience stores are open 24/7.
Why you should go now: Four Seasons hotel is probably the best place to stay, with a 30% discount for the winter season and various other offers to sweeten the deal. The best way to explore Langkawi and discover its best-kept secrets is to rent a scooter and just ride along its empty roads with the sea on one side, and hills on the other. Renting a boat from the tropical charters is a must try, as you get a free flow of drinks and BBQ food as you watch the sunset from the middle of the ocean (Instagram worthy much?). The best part? You get to jump into the ocean (now that’s something you can strike off your bucket list). The Brasserie and La Sal’s Pool Bar are pretty good options in terms of places to eat. If you want to try local food, then do visit Tomato Nasi Kandar. Drinks wise, you can check out Yellow Cafe to sit and drink by the beach, but if you’re looking for an experience that’s a little less posh then head over to the beach shack located along Pantai Cenang, where you can sit on a carpet by the beach and enjoy a round of drinks and shisha all night long. If heading to the clubs is on your to-do list, then the Sunba retro bar is worth checking out, with its fun beach vibe.
How to get there: Flights like Jetstar, Tigerair and Airasia fly to Langkawi on a daily basis. All three airlines are having their winter promotions going on and if you’re lucky, you can get your tickets for as low as $74.
