Luka opens for dinner to welcome chef Pauline Holsinger to cook classic Sri Lankan cuisine.

Bangkok has been hit with a string of cool food events lately, from Quince's Israeli food pop-up to Ceresia's Latin food festival. This latest partnership between a Sri Lankan chef and breezy Sathorn brunch spot Luka is no exception.

From Jul 14-15, the restaurant will host two Sri Lankan dinners with chef Pauline Holsinger from Ebony Spring, a tea plantation homestay in the country's central region.

Chef Holsinger menu for the evenings includes authentic Sri Lankan dishes prepared from generations-old recipes, including the country's famous hoppers—a form of bowl-shaped pancake with a doughy center and crisp edges.

Other dishes Holsinger will be preparing include prawn curry, black pork curry, pol coconut sambol, potato in white sauce, sweet onion sambol, tempered aubergine, sinhala salad, cashew and green peas cooked in coconut cream, and wattalappam—a spiced Sri Lankan custard pudding.

The price is set at B1,300 for a dinner for two. Drinks not included. 6-10pm.

In addition, Holsinger will hold a Sri Lankan Afternoon Tea workshop on Jul 14, also at Luka. 3-5:30pm, B1,250.
