Here's proof Sukhumvit Soi 26 has more hip cafes per square meter than anywhere else in Bangkok
You know where to find us this weekend.
The modern industrial-style Hello Strangers Cafe serves a variety of hot and cold drinks, plus sweets and pastries Recommended items include the double-shot, cocoa-based Monkey Brain Latte (B90) in a skull cup, the buttery strawberry or banana chocolate pancakes (B180), homemade carrot cake (B90) and soft chocolate cake (B90). The place even has a vinyl record corner.
The cement and light wood-dominated Sora City looks like something straight out of Japan. Besides selling vintage-style bicycles (with the eponymous brand starting from B13,900), the cafe also does latte tiramisu and bitter chocolate (both from B95). On a hot day, order refreshing heavenly blue soda (B100). To celebrate its launch all hot drinks are priced at B70, while cold ones are B80.
K Village just got a whole lot sweeter. Baker Gonna Bake began life as a little online bakery and has transformed into a full-time cafe serving coffee and treats. Inside carries a cutesy Japanese cafe vibe owing to the wooden tables, concrete floors and all-too-adorable dessert menu. The Le Condon Bleu-graduate owner bakes her treats on-site, including classics like chocolate cookies and brownies (B55) as well as twists like the Brownoffee (banoffee brownie, B150), mango tart with sticky rice base (B95) and baked dome (a rich chococlate sphere with a brownie cookie base, B140). They serve blended tea from Chiang Mai's Rustic and Blue at B120 a pot, in flavors like dark chocolate orange and mango hibiscus. Plain bagels are just B50 and there's an entire espresso menu which uses beans from local coffee roaster Somersault (B70-B95). Stay tuned for the baking workshops held at the cafe.
G/F, K Village, Sukhumvit Soi 26. Open daily 8am-10pm
In contrast to the dark original venue on Sukhumvit Soi 31, the new Wonderwall, dubbed Wonderwall #26, sits in a bright, cozy space (courtesy of Be Grey design) with plenty of natural light on one of Sukhumvit's most pleasant-looking streets. On top of the signature Wonderwall blend coffee (from B60) from P&F roaster and familiar baked items, the cafe also adds a breakfast and brunch menu, consisting of things like eggs Benedict on Waffle (B220) and French toast with Fresh fruits (B250). The slow bar features selected rotating beans from Japan, Australia and Hong Kong.
