This heartwarming new video for Pink Dot 2016 will make you cry
It's the first of three videos celebrating everyday heroes in Singapore.
Singapore's annual LGBTQ rally/wholesome picnic Pink Dot had its press conference on Thursday night (at The Projector, no less), where organizers announced plans for the 2016 edition coming up on June 4.
The big change this year is that, rather than pink lights pointing to the sky during the show-stopping dot formation, picnickers (the Singaporeans and citizens and PRs among them anyway) will be asked to raise placards bearing positive messages. Also exciting is the addition of more corporate sponsors, including, most notably, Singapore's PS. Cafe (gay brunch enthusiasts, we feel you nodding approvingly).
But the big highlight of the night was the unveiling of the campaign video for the year, which has become something of an annual tradition. This year, there are three, to be released at intervals, celebrating everyday heroes and allies who have made a difference in people's lives.
Here is the first one, featuring lesbian pastor Pauline of the Free Community Church, who came to the rescue of her suicidal friend, Joan, and who encourages LGBTQ Christians to remain in the church.
