Bangkok Airways’ (1771,
www.bangkokair.com) new flights to Da Nang might be the cheapest way to get from Bangkok to the colonial Vietnamese coastal city.
As of May 25, round-trips will start at B5,470, with four flights running per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. This new route also allows easier access to the picturesque Hoi An, just a 40-minute drive away, and Hue, another famous ancient town ust a two-hour drive away.
Around the same time,
Thai AirAsia (
www.airasia.com) will also launch daily flights between Bangkok and Shantou, China. Part of Guangdong province, the city is regularly visited for religious pilgrimages to famous shrines like the Tiger God, Ruby Goddess and Tai Hong Kong, the birthplace shrine of Thailand’s leading charity Poh Teck Tung Foundation. Rates start at B4,380 for round trip as of May 27.
