Where to Live in Bangkok for Swift Access to Bangkok’s Coolest Spots
Running late for a date or meeting? These condos’ multiple connections will zip you to all your favorite places in no time.
Upcoming Project: Rhythm Rangnam
The MRT is on your doorstep and Asoke is one stop away—the perfect spot for brunch at Chu or some affordable shopping at Terminal 21. Go one stop North and you’re at Central Rama 9.
Hop onto a motorcycle and lose yourself in the neighboring sois, but make sure you end up at Peppina (Soi 31) for some of the best pizza in Bangkok.
Leave town! You’re right by the Makkasan station that goes straight to Suvarnabhumi. If you’re flying Thai Airways, you can even check-in your luggage at the station and then leisurely stroll from your home to the boarding gate, hands in your pockets.
Driving? There are too many roads and expressways to even count, here. But our favorite destination would have to be RCA, just two minutes away, not just for the clubbing, but for the awesome movie theater (House RCA) and go-karting.
Upcoming project: Life Asoke
The Connections:
Head on down to the river, just a few BTS stops away, and catch a ferry to explore hipster favorites in Phra Athit. Our picks: a cocktail at Babble & Rum followed by burgers at Escapade.
Not that you need to ride the BTS very far to keep yourself entertained. One single stop and you’re at The Mall Thapra, home to a world-class cinema and a Fitness First.
You’ll have to wait a couple years but you should soon be able to catch the MRT’s blue line, which is only one BTS stop away. Where does it take you? Straight to Hua Lamphong, Silom and all the way into Asoke and beyond. Happy hour at Vesper before heading home? No problem.
The BRT starts here, too, just next to BTS Talat Phlu. It runs along Rama 3 and up Narathiwat Rajanakarin Road. One more way to get into town. Or hop off by the river, cross over to Bang Krajao, and spend your weekend riding a bicycle in the jungle.
With six major roads criss-crossing the area and the expressway nearby, hopping into a cab or driving to your destination is never a bad way to get places—especially if you’re headed to The Bloc community mall, just a few minute's drive north.
The 'Hood: The wide boulevards and brand new mass transit systems make Wutthakat a surprisingly modern and livable spot compared to the madness of the city center—not to mention all the amazing street food to be explored here.
Upcoming project: Aspire Wutthakat
The Connections:
The BTS is literally steps from your door. Use it to zip over to Chong Nonsi (17 minutes away). It’s the city’s new center, whether it’s for fine-dining (Robuchon, Le Du) or the bohemian vibe of Sathorn Soi 10-12: Rocket, Marcel, Daisy Matthews (opening soon), Hanakaruta, Lady Brett and more.
Hop on a motorbike taxi to Bang Wa Ocha for their signature stewed pork legs—scrumptious!
Make every weekend your perfect staycation. The MRT Blue line opening in couple years will have you at Duangrit Bunnag’s Jam Factory in no time. The perfect place for a brunch with the creative types.
Who needs to make their way into the CBD when one can simply drive seven minutes down the road to The Circle Ratchapreuk, the kind of adorable community mall that makes you feel on vacation.
Double access to the expressways means you can always cross back to Suvarnabhumi in time for that Friday night flight to Chiang Mai. Bon Voyage!
The 'Hood: Laid back and affordable with universities, temples, efficient malls and hospitals. Get in while you can; it’s soon to be Thonburi’s major transportation hub.
Upcoming Project: Aspire Sathorn-Ratchapuek
