Those who always bemoan that the local fashion scene is boring should just head down to the Capitol Piazza this weekend to see what these two cool new boutiques have in store.

Local wonder boy Max Tan, known for his edgy geometric-inspired designs, has just opened his first flagship store, Max.Tan, featuring his latest Spring/Summer designs as well as a curated edition of accessories by local designer Mandy Wu and Swedish label Odeur.

There's also the swanky Manifesto, which is home to new-in-town labels like Barbara Bui, Costume National and Christophe Lemaire, and should have you maxing out the credits in no time. The teeming 2,500 sq. ft. space touts itself as Singapore's Colette, the famed concept store in Paris, and is all about varied and funky offerings spanning menswear, womenswear and accessories. Other stuff available here include cult brands like Serge Lutens and Miansai.
