Great design, local brews, and beer bites.

Craft beer fans in Bangkok have been waiting for this place. Still currently in a soft opening since March, Two Palms Taproom is pretty easy to recognize due to the, you know, two palms outside, but it’s also set in a 200-year-old colonial building.

Found on Phra Sumen Road in Old Town, this space is very clear about one thing: if you’re looking for Singha and Chang, get on your bike. Two Palms Taproom does local craft brews from the likes of SpaceCraft, Vana Brewing, Sunrise Brewing, Fishbridge, and Brainfill.

The building itself is worth a visit, a two-story construction complete with box sash windows, colonial arches, and gorgeous filigree detail that makes it look more like a wedding venue than a spot for crushing beers.

Very much tuned into the local beer theme, this venue boasts 15 taps and tasting flights are available, served in large glasses to sample the new domestic boom in beer since the Kingdom has loosened up its brewing laws—a bit—and old favorites like Outlaw.

But, if you’re bringing someone not that big on beer, they’re also featuring a traditional cocktail menu with an old fashioned (B300), Moscow to BKK Mule (B220), salted plum highball (B240), and other classics.

For the bites, this place is getting a lot done with a very Thai menu of booze food. You’ll find corn ribs and hashbrowns for some drinking food, but they’ve also got a full salad and somtam menu. But for heartier dishes, you’ll find smoked coconut milk covered, prawns, thai spice rub ribs, and an eight-hour slow-cooked brisket.

While they’re still relatively new, they’re in on the Sunday funday craze with an all-night happy hour with BOGO on selected taps.
