First stop: Japan

While most brunch parties are reserved for Sunday afternoons as a bash to sorta recover from the high the night before, the rooftop bar of Bay Hotel Singapore is throwing one on a Friday and Saturday evening instead—so you can properly let your hair down under the cool night sky.

The very first edition of the new Wanderlust Party Series held at Propeller takes guests on a journey to Japan, in sync with the country’s cherry blossom season. Held over two days from Mar 29-30, the $108 nett entry fee will grant you the next best thing to actually being in Tokyo.

For three hours, you’ll get to enjoy free-flowing sake, Roku gin, highball, Kirin beer and a special Meiji Shines cocktail made using a sake base. And of course, there’ll be a proper buffet spread too. Feast on fresh sashimi and premium wagyu at the sushi and live carving stations, as well as hot favourites like mentaiko pasta, tempura, chicken karaage, mochi desserts and lots more.

Those really interested in knowing more about sake can attend a masterclass (only on Mar 30) as well for $20, where a sake sommelier will take guests through five premium bottlings in an intimate setting.

And what’s a party without good music? On deck duty will be none other than DJ Stephen Day, dishing out the house and nu disco tunes that he’s best known for, mixed in with some theme-appropriate Japanese waves to keep the vibe upbeat all night. Remember to keep a lookout for hanabi blossoming in the distance.

Wanderlust Party – Japan takes place Mar 29-30, 7pm-10pm at Propeller. Sake masterclass only on Mar 30, 6pm-7pm.
