As Oskar celebrates a dozen years on Soi 11 later this week, another staple of the Bangkok nightlife scene will mark its fifth birthday in outlaw style on Mar 14.
Iron Balls Parlor and Saloon—a staple for the high-end, hard-boozing crowd between Phrom Phong and Thonglor—comes from the seafaring mind of Australian Ashley Sutton, who has also been behind the start of big nightlife names like Maggie Choo’s, Iron Fairies, and Iron Balls Distillery.
The theme of the “Outlaws and Rebels'' party asks that patrons show up in the dress code of “Modern Pirate.” There’s an invite-only party from 7-8pm, but once the doors open the party is planned through 3am—along with the tunes of DJ Sonny Amerie, DJ Kinky D, DJ Lazykay, and a special guest.
Celebrating five years, this spot has long been a favorite for gin-lovers (and folks pregaming before a night at Sing Sing) amidst walls of red velvet and thousands of Iron Balls bottles.
This spot is not to be confused with the Iron Balls Distillery in Ekkamai, which boasts both a venue for boozing and a look into the process of gin making. A downtown Iron Fairies will be open again soon, according to a social media post, on Sukhumvit Soi 39.
Iron Balls Parlour and Saloon, Sukhumvit Soi 45, 094 894 8095. Open Tue-Sun 6pm-late.
