Head upstairs.

Get a sneak-peek of Silom’s newest speakeasy when it opens for the first time this week.

The unnamed bar on the second floor of The 88 will initially launch for five nights only as part of an event called Jay Gray’s Jazz Hole this Jun 5-9.

The event is a collaboration with Monkey Shoulder, a cult-favorite blended malt Scotch whiskey, and standing behind the bar will be Jay Gray himself, the spirit's brand ambassador for Southeast Asia.

Drinks are all B300 and take inspiration from jazz, funk, soul, street art and Bangkok. Though the list changes every day, you can expect concoctions like the Kopi Cocktail, which stirs together Monkey Shoulder, sweet vermouth, Campari, grenadine and Geisha Kopi syrup, topped with tonic.

The event will also feature street art and graffiti, sprayed by Jecks (IG: @jecks_bkk), Basid (IG: @basid_one) and Joker (IG: @joker.eb), accompanied by funky soul music blasting through the speakers.

Having taken over Smokin’ Pug's old shop-house on Surawong Road in Dec 2017, The 88 is an American-style bar known for its fresh, minimalist drinks and full-flavored comfort dishes.

Jun 5-9. 2/F, The 88, 88 Surawong Rd., 087-663-1365. Open Mon-Sat 5pm-midnight
