Australia’s award-winning Four Pillars gin has arrived in Bangkok.

Hailing from the Yarra Valley in Victoria, the brand made a name for itself when its Rare Dry Gin first won the double gold at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco in 2014 (it did so in 2016, too). This bottle stands out for using whole fresh oranges alongside lots of Australian botanicals.

Another interesting bottle now being imported here is the purple gin, called Bloody Shiraz, which has been steeped with fresh Shiraz grapes for eight weeks.

Importer Alchemy-Asia is launching the gin in Bangkok with the two events, first of which is at Rabbit Hole on Feb 23 where they invite the two founders of Four Pillars—Cameron Mackenzie and Stuart Gregor—to whip up a set of five cocktails for B1,500 (or B350 each).

Quince Eatery & Bar will also hold a four-course cocktail pairing dinner on Feb 24. Tickets are B3,000, book yours at eat@quincebangkok.com or 02-662-4478.

In about four weeks' time you'll be able to find both bottles in branches of Villa Market and The Mall, with Rare Dry selling for B2,190 and Blood Shiraz for B2,500. Keep an eye out for the Barrel Aged and Spiced Negroni variations on their next shipment, too.

You can also try the gin in a simple G&T at Quince for B280, Rabbit Hole for B380 and Teens of Thailand for B440.
