Good news for bar owners, beer, wine and spirits distributors and, you know, everyone who responsibly enjoys a drink every now and then: the alcohol sales ban will be lifted May 3. 

The news was reported on social media by Khaosod and shared by expat blogger Richard Barrow. As it has been published in the Royal Gazette, the ordinance is official.

Alcohol can only be purchased for takeaway for the time being. More details will be announced May 2. Stay tuned for further updates.
