Asia's 50 Best Bars 2018 has just been announced, and six Bangkok bars made the cut.

That’s up from five entries last year, with Ku Bar and Smalls as new entries at #49 and #29, respectively.

The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental not only landed #9 this year (up from #13), they also won Best Bar in Thailand.

Backstage came #13 this year after having placing #18 last year. Vesper also made impressive progress this year jumping from #40 to #27, while Teens of Thailand was at #44, up from #46 last year.

Just one Bangkok bar dropped off the list from last year: Asoke’s rail carriage-themed Q&A.

The coveted no. 1 slot went to Manhattan from Singapore. Again.

The awards are a spin-off of Drinks International's annual World's 50 Best Bars list which launched back in 2011. They’re compiled by a panel of judges consisting of bartenders, bar consultants, brand ambassadors and drinks media.
