Forget Sarasin and Otokor. After a year in which the gay scene has been all but dead, finally we are seeing some action.

UPDATE: The Trasher party has been moved to Oct 10. See below for more details.

Sofitel So

The monthly HISO Rainbow Party at Sofitel So takes place on the first Friday of every month. Oct 3’s theme is “Ethnic Chic.” Entry is B300 but that also gets you one complimentary drink. Held at the hotel’s HISO rooftop bar, it’s one of the best-looking nights in town.

Trasher

Trasher, the most gay-friendly non-gay party organizer in town, is throwing Trasher: Fighter Party, which has just been moved to Oct 10. Party away dressed as your favorite fighting character.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sukhumvit

If you're looking to head to the Trasher Party at Box Yard, perhaps you want to pre-game at the monthly Splash Out Pool Party that same day (Oct 4). Cocktails start at B200 and Chandon and Belvedere bottles will be at special prices, too. Pangina Heals is poised to entertain, along with DJ Preeda Tony, who has played gCircuit, one of the biggest Gay Circuit parties in Asia.

Maggie Choo’s

If you still have energy left come Sunday Oct 5, the pretty Asian girls at Maggie Choo’s are giving up their swinging perches to make way for topless hunks. Since August, these weekly gay nights, themed around Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, have been spicing up Bangkok’s gay scene.
