No crowds and discounts to boot.

DEAL: Buy one night get another free at eco-friendly Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort

Notoriously swarmed by tourists during high season, if not year-round, Phi Phi island is in the midst of a makeover. With extra time on their hands, residents have organized beach clean-ups. The marine life is recovering around Maya Bay, which tourists are still barred from entering. And small businesses based on the tropical dot in the Andaman Sea are getting in on the sustainability game, too.

Those include places like Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort. The beachfront hotel offers a bunch of eco-conscious activities, from reintroducing clownfish to the sea to planting coral in a marine nursery to mangrove tours by kayak, run through the resort’s Marine Discovery Center.

With tourism down and crowds dwindling, now is the perfect time to travel for an intimate eco-experience on a remarkably more peaceful Phi Phi. You can score a sweet discount at the resort, too.

Until Jul 31, Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort is offering buy-one-get-one deals, valid on stays until Dec 25 this year. Thai residents and expats who buy a voucher get a free night for every night booked, as well as a free item or service for every item booked. In other words, book a room for a night, get it for two; book an excursion, get another free; purchase F&B, get another item free. You get the picture.

Prices start at B5,500 for superior bungalows and climb to B12,000 for the hillside pool villa.

The resort is also offering discounted transfers to and from Phuket by speedboat for B1,250/person each way (down from B2,119).

Visit the resort’s website to book a room or for more information.
