It’s been a long, much-hyped wait, but it's probably been worth it; the 407-room W Bangkok (www.whotels.com/bangkok) finally unveiled its completed look early this month. The futuristic design from SODA Thailand (Hilton Pattaya, Le Fenix) is befitting of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Group’s most fashionable brand, with lots of mirrors, glittering details and purple accents. Chic Bangkokians might want to take a seat amid the amber-colored décor inspired by monitor lizards at signature restaurant The Kitchen Table (2/F), headed by Chef Sarah Briegel, before downing some molecular cocktails by mixologist Bas Petchapradit at WOOBAR (1/F). Next to the hotel’s modern main building sits the former Russian embassy, a colonial-style building that’s being transformed into an as-yet-unnamed luxury dining venue and a cluster of four duplex suites scheduled to open in March.
