The new UberMOTO offers bike rides on demand through the same app as UberX taxi service.

Less than 48 months after landing in Bangkok, app-controlled taxi service Uber has launched UberMOTO.

The new motorbike service, launched yesterday, is cheaper than the standard UberX with flag rates starting at B10 plus B.85 per minute and B3.5 per kilometre (cancellation is B10).

You can select uberMOTO at the bottom of the screen, located to the left of uberX (which is now located in the middle).

There’s no shortage of safety either, with the driver providing passengers with their own helmet.

Right now, UberMOTO rides are available around Sathorn, Siam and Silom. Over the next few weeks the locations will expand further around Bangkok.

There’s also a promotion to celebrate the launch. First timers can use the code BKKUberMOTO to get two free rides worth B100 each until Mar 15, 2016.
