Thailand’s largest-ever sports complex, Stadium One, finally opened this past May—and it's not just a place for fitness freaks, either.

The massive, 17,250-square-meter sports and fitness center sits just a stone’s throw away from MBK Center, and will feature a whopping 129 sport retail stores—including flagship Mizuno and Warrix locations—in addition to a five-story Active Box zone packed with fitness centers offering everything from weight rooms, yoga, zumba and functional training to spin classes and boxing lessons. On top of all that, there are countless restaurants, cafes and even hotels, which gives Stadium One the feel of a "lifestyle" space more than a straight up athletics zone. The actual sporting arena, One Arena, spans 2,000-square meters and will host various events, including running tournaments, bike races, boxing competitions, sports equipment grand sales or even flea markets.

Here’s our pick of the lot:

CrossOver

This gym specializes in functional training with classes of 30-minutes, 45-minutes and 60-minutes designed for all fitness levels. The classes rang from High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and fitness boot camps to agility and strength training with professional coaches who monitor your progression and health.

4/F Active Box, Stadium One. Open Mon-Fri 7am-10pm; Sat-Sun 9am-2am and 7am-10pm

RSM Academy

Set directly inside the massive Stadium One complex, this gym was founded by the owner of Rajadamnern Stadium—arguably Thailand’s most prestigious muay Thai arena right now—and Singha Corporation—a sponsor of the sport for decades. RSM Academy provides training programs for newbies, kids and advanced classes for aspiring professional ass-kickers.

4/F Active Box, Stadium One, Open 9am-9pm

Siri Massage & Spa

Operated by a California Certified Massage Therapist, this cozy and modern space offers individual treatments based on a range of therapy practices. Choose between the famous Swedish massage, deep tissue massage for physical ailments, prenatal massage to relieve discomfort during pregnancy, and sport massage which reduce pain from intense athletic activity, dancing and hard workout.

Stadium One, Open daily 10am-11pm

Muscular Coffee & Kolok Massage

Step inside this vast space with dark walls and marble countertops to get a cup of aromatic coffee made from Arabica beans and high protein drinks, or head upstairs to get a traditional Thai massage such as herbal compress massage, oil massage, or a tried-and-true foot massage.

Stadium One, Open daily 8am-10pm

Siam Stadium Hostel

Designed to have what we would call a “modern sports look”, this hotel/hostel stands out straight away with vibrant colors like orange, brown and mint. For rooms and dorms, you’re options range from a six-bed dormitory, triple room, twin room or single room. Swing by the common area to chat and have breakfast with new friends, or use the hotel as your launch pad for an adventure in Bangkok using the nearby BTS.

Stadium One, Open 24hrs

Pordee Padthai

This restaurant is said by some to whip up the best pad Thai in town using fresh  ingredients and a homemade sauce (they keep the recipe under wraps) that give this version a very unique flavor. Opt for original pad Thai with white noodles, the healthier one using vermicelli, or the creative fettuccini pad thai with beef.

G/F Lazy Sunday Hostel, Stadium One, Open daily 11am-9:30pm

Laek-mai-laek

This locally decorated, family-friendly restaurant serves up a great selection of mouth-watering Isaan comfort dishes. Try the tam lai bua—spicy and sour somtam using lotus root to create a crispy texture, and kanom chin (rice noodle with curry) which the soup made from local curry paste and salmon.

Stadium One, Open daily 11am-9pm

With Bangkok undergoing a fitness boom in recent years, the new Stadium One project is taking things up a level. It's not just a workout space or shopping complex, it's a full-featured hangout spot complete with restaurants, cafes and hotels (really, you wouldn't even need to step outside if you didn't want to). From homey Thai restaurants to relaxing massage spas, there is a lot to keep your interest here other than getting in a sweat-session.

Stadium One Location:
Chulalongkorn Soi 4, Banthadthong Rd., Wangmai, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330
