Why complain about delays when you can read poems?

You might not know that April is Singapore National Poetry Writing Month. Its locus is a Facebook community where poets and literati post a prompt everyday and members of the community have the rest of the day to write an original poem. If they want, writers can share the poem with the group for comment. Well, something exciting happened on Saturday when poet and Singapore Literature Prize winner Joshua Ip posted the following prompt:

 

 

 

 

 

Poems began to pour in, and before the end of the weekend, every station of the MRT had a poem, from Tuas Link to Pasir Ris, Punggol to HarbourFront, and everything in between.

The poems have now been compiled in an interactive MRT map, making it the best way to spend Monday at the office. Here it is.
