The Department of Livestock Development and student volunteers from Chulalongkorn University and Mahidol University evacuated more than 500 animals—many of them disabled—from a shelter threatened by rising flood waters, the Foundation for Handicapped Animals under Luang Ta Maha Bua’s patronage in Nakhon Pathom. Carrying cages through 4-meter deep water, the volunteers relocated some 500 dogs and 50 cats to the Phetchaburi Provincial Livestock Office after a grueling day’s work.
