They say it’s an ill wind that blows nobody any good—and in a weird way, it seems like the environment is actually going to benefit from the recent floods. We already discussed the huge piles of rubbish created by the recent deluge: there’s a 100,000 tons of the stuff scattered around the flood area. No, the BMA are not just going to dump it in Khao Yai. With the government’s support, they plan to categorize the junk depending on whether it can be reused, recycled or turned into fertilizer. Could this be the start of a proper city-wide recycling program? We can but hope.
