Marriott Hotel lightens Surawong road with its new landmark hotel

Marriott Hotel Group has announced the opening the five-star Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse this March, bringing another elite-level hotel to the rising Surawongse Road in Silom. The new facility features flexible accommodations complete with guestroom catering for both business and leisure tourists, as well as apartment-style suites with kitchenettes and up to three bedrooms suitable for group travellers or people who need a little more elbow room. Every rooms in the 32-story building will be furnished in an earth-tone palette to balance utilities with contemporary style.

The group’s larger ambition is to help rejuvenate Surawong road, which slowing becoming on the area’s more interesting streets.

Part of the plan to do this is through a collection of new high-end dining establishments to pull customers from the surrounding area. There are two mainstays to note here. First, the new Thai-focused Praya Kitchen, where the chef brings back childhood memories with comfort Thai dishes using seasonal local ingredients. The second culinary highlight is Yào Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, where you can opt for authentic Cantonese and Shanghainese cuisine with signature tea ritual, or get the signature cocktails and bites at the two-level outdoor bar with stunning views of the Chao Praya river. Cuatomers can also request signature treatment programs including a revitalizing body at Quan Spa, sunbathe by the pool, or burn the calories out at the 24-hour fitness center.

Located in the heart of the rising Surawongse neighborhood, the hotel is surrounded by landmarks and is very convenient for tourists just 45 minutes from airport by taxi. Either go for authentic local experience from cultural and art attractions nearby include Neilson Hays Library, Bangkokian Museum and Sri Maha Mariamman Temple or the soon-to-open Mahanakorn Observatory.

For meeting spaces, the hotel boasts striking event facilities, including a ballroom and nine meeting rooms, and a colonial-style courtyard with an garden that's perfect for cocktails, diners and coffee break experiences. Guests also have access to the hotel’s multilingual coordinators, coupling fluency in Chinese and Japanese with Thai-style hospitality.
