Since it was first published in French back in 1943 the famous tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry has become a global children's classic, translated into over 250 languages. Here's the chance to revisit your childhood joy and learn more about the author and his legacy.

To mark the 70th anniversary of The Little Prince, Alliance Fraincais de Bangkok will be running a series of activities next week (from Mar 6), including a conference, a photo exhibition and a film screening.

Starting with the Discovering The Little Prince conference on Mar 6; Olivier d’Agay, great-nephew of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, will give a talk on the life and works of the pilot-cum-author. Conference in French. Tickets on sale at venue (B250).

The same day will see an aircraft photo exhbition held in tribute to the author by Manolo Chrétien, Saint-Exupéry, his Little Prince and French Wings, which will be on display until the end of March.

Then it's time for the fans get to the in-house cinema on Mar 22 for two motion pictures (in French with no subtitles): Le Petit Prince (1974), a vintage musical animation adaptation of the book at 10am and Saint-Exupéry: la dernière mission (1944), Robert Enrico's biopic drama of the author presented through a series of flashbacks, at 6:30pm.
