With just two more sleeps until the World Cup kicks off in Brazil, it’s now time to get down to the nitty gritty of working out how, where and when to watch the matches.

UPDATE: On Jun 12, it was announced all 64 games of World Cup 2014 would be broadcast live on free-to-air television, namely Army-owned Channel 5 and Channel 7.

Of course, the generals in their infinite wisdom have made things a little bit more complicated thanks to their pesky curfew. With games on in the middle of the night that means most of us will be forced to watch the matches at home - or spend the whole night locked in a pub somewhere.

However, various court cases and wrangles over TV rights have made things pretty confusing (much like FIFAs general decision making), but Thai fans now have a clear idea of what channels will be showing what games after RS agreed to sub-license all 64 matches to True Visions on Monday. That means you need to be hooked up to one of these five options if you want to watch all 64 games live:

  • Via the RS World Cup set-top box which is for sale at B1,590
  • Via the RS SunBox
  • If you are a PSI HD Subscriber and pay an additional one off fee of B299
  • True Visions subscribers
  • Via online service Thai Expat TV which will be showing the BBC and ITV coverage and has an on-demand option for the last 7 days. Subscription starts from B600 a month and can be done on a monthly basis.

If you don’t want to fork out for the privelege of watching grown men kick a ball about then there will also be the chance to catch 22 of the matches on two free-to-air channels, Channel 7 and 8, and the good news is they will both be showing the final on July 14.
