6 actually good things that happened in Singapore last week
Adorable otters, delicious foods and more.
The world may be going to hell in a handbasket, but there are plenty of nice things to be excited about. Beyonce's awesome new video, the groundbreaking confirmation of gravitational waves and, closer to home in Singapore, adorable animals and delicious new food to try. Here are the highlights:
An exciting new restaurant opened on Boon Tat Street. Replacing Sorrel is the new Unlisted Collection restaurant Cheek by Jowl, which is throwing open its doors today (Feb 12). Good luck getting a table! The opening comes hot on the heels of Whitegrass, another modern Australian place that opened a couple weeks ago at Chijmes.
Creative collective Pok Pok and Away drew this wonderful illustration of Chinatown during CNY. Hopefully this makes up for the times your relatives asked you about getting married. Check it out here.
We were not the sappiest fools in the region. A study by Mastercard that Singaporeans budgeted an average of $263 on Valentine's Day, behind Chinese ($332) and Hong Kongers ($338).
Abandoned pets got some good news. The SPCA has moved from Mount Vernon to Sungei Tengah Road. With its new HQ being 7,766 sq m, it can house twice as many animals (up to 350 of them), and you can have a look at their new HQ here.
We were #blessed with five new otter pups. Previously seen at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, they are now at the Marina Bay/Kallang Basin area. Cue adorable photos taking over the internet. Snap your own this weekend, or just watch Facebook user Fast Snail's adorable video here:
