Coffee & Breakfast

Some Time Blue

Start the day with a home-baked pastry and coffee at Maiaek the Coffee (Phahon Yothin Soi 8, 083-995-7895) or venture to Ari’s drip-coffee specialist Some Time Blue (Phahon Yothin Soi 2, 087-907-0099), where you can sample their award-winning coffee (B150) amid classic Victorian furnishings. The charmingly makeshift bike cafe, Aran Bicicletta (128/10 Phahon Yothin Soi 2, 081-821-9603), is a hub for cycling geeks, with punchy coffee (from B50), delicious dark beer Horlicks cake (B90), and a showroom next door where you can get your hands on the latest bike gear.

Lunch & Dinner

Phed Phed

Head to one of the most buzzing Isaan restaurants in town, Phed Phed (Phahon Yothin Soi 8, 097-918-1175), for well-priced, authentic food amid chic decor—try their popular ko moo yang (grilled pork neck, B90) and gaeng om (Thai herbal curry soup, B110). Alternatively, ditch KFC for some flavorsome grilled chicken (B90) at Nittaya Gai Yang (Phahon Yothin Soi 8, 02-616-9018), or venture a little further to Kaobahn (128/10 Soi Kanchana Khom, 081-442-7777) for Thai home-style cooking. For American-style comfort food, Jamie’s Burgers (Frank & Release Futsal Field, Soi Sailom, Phahon Yothin Soi 8, 097-001-1108) serves Thai and Japanese wagyu patties in perfectly charred buns with their tangy, tomato-based house sauce (from B99 for pork/B119 for beef).

Nuthakorn Jivarungsinee. Co-founder of Phed Phed

Pongsakorn Boonraksa. Head Chef and Owner of Jamie's Burgers

“I would recommend our close friends just across BTS Ari, O’glee, since they have great selection of beers with an intimate atmosphere. They will make you feel like you’re enjoying beer with your close friends.”

“My favorite spot in the neighborhood is a hidden gem called Maiaek the Coffee. Their coffee is specially selected from the northern region and the friendly owner always makes great blends served with homemade cakes and pastries.”
