Icedea
Hide away from ruthless heat inside the big air-conditioned BACC, where some icy relief awaits you. Icedea serves up ice cream flavors not easily found elsewhere, from the likes of tofu to cheddar cheese. Not weird enough? Order the tonkatsu ice-cream (B159) or another fun pick, the granny lemonade, which has a set of false teeth in the drink. They can also sculpt your ice cream in any shape you want. Titanium Ice Bar
Forget Bangkok's heartless heat and dive into the icy world of Titanium where temperatures reach as low as -10 degrees Celsius. You can also expect creative cocktails (with generous alcohol content to keep you warm), plus live bands and DJs to take your mind off the heat. The house band, the all-girl classic rock and R&B group Unicorn, are a real treat. Just order a shot of ice-cold vodka at the ice bar and enjoy one of the "coolest" spots here in the city.

The Rink Ice Arena
Don't let the high temperatures pin you at home. It's the perfect excuse to release your inner ice-princess at one of these ice skating rinks around town. The Rink Ice Arena provides two venues for you to escape the heat: 2/F of Central World (BTS Chit Lom, 081-875-1212) and 7/F Central Plaza Grand Rama 9 (MRT Rama 9, 02-103-4750). One session costs B330 (skates included) and lasts 2 hours. Open daily 10am-10pm.

Minus 5 Bar
Grab your blanket and head to the Minus 5 Bar where everything from the furniture to shot glasses is made of ice. Adjoining the Jameson Irish pub on Silom Road, the bar maintains a frosty temperature of -5 degrees Celsius and also challenges you, Fear-Factor style, to stay for 20 minutes at the icy bar without pleading for an overcoat and full-on winter wear. Blended vodka shooters, flavored Absolut and a variety of ice-cream and cocktail shakes are served until midnight strikes. There's a jacket rental service for every brave soul who finds the place just a little bit too cold.
