The Phrom Phong crowd have long been wondering what was becoming of that green building at the corner of Soi 31 and Phrom Chit Alley. The answer is Public House Sukhumvit 31.

The hotel is set to open by the end of February, but at the moment the ground floor’s restaurant, bar, and coworking space are all open to the public. With wall art from Ploenchan Mook Vinyaratn, 72 pieces of custom designed furniture upholstered in French fabrics, and walls lined with tat and artwork, Public House is a social, carefully hectic space.

Fest—open daily 11am-10pm—is a high-end comfort food eatery with its menu’s roots in Dark. While you're sure to opt for the wood-fired pizza (starting at 390), don't miss the josper-roasted garlic tofu hummus (B290) or the earthy pappardelle mushrooms (B450). This will no doubt be a brunch spot to watch in Phrom Phong in the months to come.

Passing the busy open kitchen of Fest is the bar, and beyond that the coworking space, dubbed Forum. Complete with outlets under every seat, this is a pretty fun space to be banging away at the day job—featuring music, private meeting spaces, and a podcast studio.

Expect rooms and the rooftop to be open at the end of the month, and the next big event for Public House is the coming Vinyl Fair (Mar 24-26).
