Just as the BTS increases its core network prices by roughly B2 (effective Jun 1, see above), its extensions—from On Nut to Bearing and Taksin to Phetchakasem—are actually getting cheaper by B5. By May 17, just in time for kids to get back to school, tickets on the extensions will be B10, down from B15. Apparently, the outer reaches of Bangkok still haven’t warmed to the BTS and this is a bid to attract more daily users. Currently, there are some daily 120,000 users a day on the Sukhumvit line, and that number should go up by 10,000 with this new rate. Oh joy!
