Muay Thai legend Buakaw Por Pramuk to put his sharp elbows to new use on the football pitch.

The Thai welterweight kickboxer, former Omnoi Stadium champion and two-time K-1 World Max champion (2004 and 2006) recently signed with RBAC FC where he'll play as a striker.

RBAC FC, the reserve team for BEC TERO Sasana, play in the Regional League Division 2 and represent Rattana Bundit University.

During the halftime break of their game against NSRU FC on Sunday Feb 16, the team’s head coach Piyanat Rattanapien revealed his two new players for this season, none other than Buakaw and Jatuchoke Wiriyapongchai, ex-member of the RS boyband B-Mix.

On his career change, the fighter-cum-forward told reporters, “Football is one of my favorite sports since I was young and I always wished to become a professional player one day. Now that I’ve got an opportunity to join the RBAC team, I want to do my best and I won’t disappoint the fans.”

The boxing champ also had a warning for opposition teams: “Defenders, it’s gonna be a tough game.”

Buakaw signed a one-year contract with the club, though it's unsure when he will make his debut as he's off to Azerbaijan for the semi-finals of the K-1 World MAX on Sunday.

RBAC's next match will be against Jamjuri United on Feb 22, 6pm, at RBAC Stadium.
