Last week, it was a new museum, this week we welcome a new park to our cultured and green city. While you pick yourself off the floor, we can confirm that you do still live in Bangkok. Even better news is the fact that this new addition, the three-rai Nagarabirom Park, is actually situated along the banks of the Chao Phraya River on Maharacha Road. A public space on the river front—now we’re feeling faint ourselves. The location means visitors can enjoy sweeping views across the river to Thonburi and to the nearby historical sites of Wat Pra Keaw, Wat Pho, and the old navy office building. The park opened in September but is due to be fully complete by the end of the year. Our tip: to make sure these views aren’t spoiled, the park has been planted out with small bushes and short trees so you might want to bring a sunhat.
