Do you remember the old Ferris wheel that used to lurch dangerously around in the breeze during the good old days of Suan Lum Night Market. Well soon you’ll be able to soar above the rooftops once again. Only this time you should be able to go much higher and enjoy some spectacular river views at the same time. That’s if the BMA’s plans to build a new giant ferris wheel come to fruition. Apparently they have a budget of B30 billion and already have a couple of potential sites one at the Queen Sirikit Centre and a second, preferred option near Charoenkrung Road. And it’s going to be big too, standing a cool 176 metres, compared to the London Eye, which is a mere 135m tall. Trifling details like when, where and who is going to build it are still to be ironed out but that’s no reason not to get excited is it? Is it?
