A two-day event looking into how and what Bangkok eats.
Chef Chudaree “Tam” Debhakam has become one of Bangkok’s most recognizable dining personalities—and not just for her food. Baan Tepa, along with garnering Michelin and Top Tables plaudits, has been at the forefront of putting a spotlight on local food and sustainability. Part of that is Baan Tepa Garden Market, back again this year for two days of artisanal goods and workshops from Jan 18-19.

Beginning in 2021, the Baan Tepa Garden Market brings together culinary talent to put a focus on sustainability and community, and this year they’re hosting more than 20 vendors at the Baan Tepa Culinary Space for learning and, most importantly, eating.

For fans of fungi, Earthling and OmakaHed will be joining in showing off their mushrooms, and producers of pyramid salt at Salte, pomelo from Bicycle Wind, artisanal honey from Bum Rung Suuk, and many more will be slinging their wares.

This is a chance to understand organic fare from the likes of Kiss Me Farm’s cows, Lung Wit’s coconuts, Or Tankhun Organic Farm’s chickens. Baked goods, fish, seasonings—this, Bangkok, is where your food comes from (or should).

Kombucha will be coming from Junya Bake and Brew, and there are health food names from Kru Usa to Plantogenic. Even the doggos get a look in with Apet and Hoya Bakery at this pet-friendly event.

Along with vendors, treats, produce, and special menus, the Baan Tepa Garden Market will be hosting workshops for meeting local producers, bottle painting, and making kimchi from local Thai herbs.

The event is held at the Baan Tepa Culinary Space, a mix of garden, cafe, and restaurant, a celebrated family property reborn with sleek polished woods, soft lighting and urban farm vibes. Chef Tam’s Baan Tepa, 2024’s Top Tables No.3 and No.1 in 2023, has garnered recognition everywhere from Netflix to the BBC, and has been a tireless campaigner for sustainability. The event runs from 10am-6pm on Jan 18-19, and reservations are not required.
