1. An online petition to ban pick up artist Julien Blanc from coming to Singapore has garnered more than 3,000 signatures over three days. The controversial dating coach is currently on a worldwide tour dishing out advice to men on how to pick up women using demeaning, bordering on physically abusive, tactics. 

2. Homegrown brand Naiise launches their biggest pop-up market yet. The Naiise Christmas store, open until Dec 24, carries a wide range of clothing, homeware and accessories. Located in Dunlop Street, there are also food stalls by The Cajun Kings, Park Bench Deli, Morsels, Burnt End, Artichoke and Kith Cafe, as well as over 150 local and international designers like La Bruket, Hej Juni and Weekend Worker.

3. This weekend also saw the first edition of Art After Dark at Gillman Barracks. The bi-monthly event happened in conjunction with the opening of the Singapore Art Book Fair at the Centre for Contemporary Art that had a selection of independently-published, contemporary art, books and zines. There was plenty of live music, workshops and food & drink stalls by Arbite, South East Sliders and Hendrick's Gin.

4. Sports fans were also in for a treat this weekend. The Jalan Besar Stadium saw some of Liverpool FC's legends play against Singaporean soccer superstars like Fandi Ahmad and Lim Tong Hai. Despite Singapore's 1-0 initial lead, they eventually succumbed 3-1 to the English team.

5. For those who think wildlife is virtually nonexistent in Singapore, think again. There were wild dolphins spotted casually swimming over by the Marina Barrage. A pod of pink dolphins, usually only seen at Underwater World Singapore, was seen swimming close to the shores this past weekend.
