Bangkok to host 2nd Asia LGBT Milestone Awards
Last year's awards were held in Singapore, which is reportedly losing millions of pink dollars in tourism to Bangkok’s more liberal LGBT attitudes.
The 2nd Asia LGBT Milestone Awards will be held in Bangkok this year on April 9, organizer Element Magazine recently announced.
Thailand recently topped an anonmyous survey carried out by Element to be named the Most Favorite Travel Hotspot in Asia for affluent LGBT tourists, one of the largest growing market segments.
The awards celebrate and advocate a more progressive and liberal Asia, and highlight selected individuals and organizations for their work behind the promotion of diversity in the workplace.
Awards such as the "Seeds of Change" for individuals and "Blossom in Diversity" for organizations will be given out at the event after a careful selection process by a 100-member panel of judges, and will be attended by LGBT organizations, brands, entrepreneurs and international members of the press.
The event, which will be held in collaboration with In The Dark Asia, will be held right before Songkran Festival, one of the biggest and sexiest LGBT events in Asia.
