At the top of the table it was definitely a case of missed chances with none of the top three teams managing to capitalizes on other teams dropping points. On Saturday, third place Police United had their goalkeeper Patrakorn Tanganurat to thank for a goalless draw at home to second place Chonburi. Still league leaders also slipped up as they could only maintain their three point lead at the top after a surprising 0-0 draw with TTM FC Phichit.

Buriram keep their three point advantage at the top of the league to run out 2-1 winners, despite a spirited second half fight back from Army. The victory on Sunday means they remain three points clear of second place Chonburi. Still the Sharks are keeping up the pressure thanks to an impressive 2-0 victory over fellow title contenders BEC Tero.

It was business as usual at the top of the TPL this week as Buriram continued their imperious unbeaten run after the latest weekend of action. Their relatively straight forward 1-0 home win over TOT saw them move back into top spot, ahead of Chonburi who had beaten Chiang Rai United 1-0 on Saturday.

It was a mixed week for foreign managers in Thai football. There was definitely some good news from the Thai National coach Bryan Robson, who told fifa.com that the prognosis has been very positive following his operation to remove a cancerous tumor from his throat six weeks ago. Indeed, the former Man United midfield legend said specialists had said  he should make a 100% recovery, leaving him free to worry about how he’s going to steer Thailand passed either Afghanistan or Palestine in a World Cup Qualifier in July to make it into the Asian Group proper.

The only TPL game in Bangkok-proper on Saturday is at the Thephasadin Stadium as BEC Tero Sasana host Khon Kaen (18:00). Tero, who had been looking like possible title contenders, have lost back-to-back matches and perhaps more importantly lost the services of iconic striker Teerathep ‘Leesaw’ Winothai who will be on the sidelines for at least three months after suffering a broken leg.

It was a positive weekend for most of the Bangkok's teams in a busy weekend of TPL action. There was good news for Thai Port who finally put a tough start to the season behind them with a 1-0 victory over Army United. That was despite home supporters being banned from attending the game after recent crowd trouble. There was good news for Muangthong too, as the Kirins recorded a 2-0 win over rock bottom club TOT while Bangkok Glass celebrated their first win of the season, after a 2-0 victory over Osotspa.

Home support proved decisive as Buriram PEA, cheered on by the vociferous crowd of 20,000 plus supporters at the i-Mobile Stadium, ran out 3-nil winners over Chonburi to replace the sharks at the top of the league. They must now be favorites for the title after last year's champions Muangthong had a very bad away day crashing to an embarrassing 5-1 defeat at Osotspa M-150 in Saraburi. In the capital, Thai Port had their first home game and it was a derby against rivals Bangkok Glass.

It was perhaps a case of normal service resumed as most of the TPL's fancied teams recorded victories. Most relieved of those teams has to be Muangthong who recorded their first win under new coach Henrique Calisto, and their first win of the league season with a deserved 2-0 victory over a stubborn Thai Port at Yamaha Stadium. Elsewhere fancied-Chonburi showed their title pretentions with a convincing 6-0 demolition of TOT SC to move them to the top of the table.

An impressive looking Army United managed to stun a Muangthong United team whose season seems to be imploding before it's even really got started. The Soldiers resisted a first half barrage from last year's champions but there was only one winner after Muanthong's Arthit Daosawang was sent off early in the second half. The impressive 3-0 win puts Army top of the league while the currently managerless Muangthong still search for their first victory of the season. In what was strangely the only other TPL game of the weekend, Osotspa M-150 beat Khon Kaen FC 3-0 at the Saraburi Stadium.
