Home support proved decisive as Buriram PEA, cheered on by the vociferous crowd of 20,000 plus supporters at the i-Mobile Stadium, ran out 3-nil winners over Chonburi to replace the sharks at the top of the league. They must now be favorites for the title after last year's champions Muangthong had a very bad away day crashing to an embarrassing 5-1 defeat at Osotspa M-150 in Saraburi. In the capital, Thai Port had their first home game and it was a derby against rivals Bangkok Glass. A last minute change saw a ban on home fans lifted and they were able to watch a lively 1-1 draw, including an equalizing goal by former Port hero Sarayuth '5-yard Joe' Chaikamdee, who then promptly apologised to the crowd. Finally, of the other Bangkok based teams, Army could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Sisaket while BEC Tero conceded a late equalizer to finish up 1-1 with Samut Songkhram.
