The only TPL game in Bangkok-proper on Saturday is at the Thephasadin Stadium as BEC Tero Sasana host Khon Kaen (18:00). Tero, who had been looking like possible title contenders, have lost back-to-back matches and perhaps more importantly lost the services of iconic striker Teerathep ‘Leesaw’ Winothai who will be on the sidelines for at least three months after suffering a broken leg.

Up in Pathum Thani, the improving Bangkok Glass are at home to Samut Songkhram (6pm). The Glass Rabbits have won their last two matches and will move into the top six – temporarily, at least – if they can make it three out of three on Saturday evening. Muangthong’s revival should also continue as they take on bottom-of-the-table Sriracha away from home (6pm). Just a draw will move the 2010 champions into the top three for the first time this season, but it would be a shock if they don’t end up with all three points.

On Sunday, Thai Port will hope to put a little distance between themselves and the relegation zone when they take on Siam Navy in Chonburi (6pm). Even the inconsistent Port should have enough to see off a Navy side which has won just one match this season. It may not look like an interesting match on paper, but Army United v Police United (6pm, Sun) is the battle of the surprise packages as third-place Police could move into the top two if they win, whilst Army could take Police’s third-place spot, depending on other results, if they run out victors. The last of the Bangkok-based teams, TOT are away at high flying league leaders Buriram-PEA (6pm, Sun). A few weeks ago no one would have predicted anything but a heavy victory for PEA. But TOT have, somewhat improbably, taken ten points from their last four games after losing their first five matches. Elsewhere, Chiang Rai host Chonburi (4pm, Sat), Sisaket are at home to Pattaya and Osotspa travel to Phichit to take on TTM (both, 6pm, Sun).

The pick of the Divison 1 games in the capital is at Bangkok University as fourth-place Bangkok United host third-place Rajpracha (6pm, Sat). Bangkok F.C were scheduled to play F.C Phuket at their Bang Mod Stadium home in Thonburi, but the fixture has been switched to Phuket as the pitch at Bang Mod has fallen below required standards. Thai Honda welcome Suphanburi to the 72nd Anniversary Stadium in Minburi (4pm, Sun) and Air Force United and Chula United are away at Saraburi and Chiang Mai respectively (both 6pm, Sun).
