Central Embassy welcomes an iconic Korean artist for a sneak peek

Between Oct 15 and Jan 13, Central Embassy is welcoming star Korean pop artist Choi Jeong Hwa and three of his massive art installations along with other 74 renowned international artists as a sneak peek of the upcoming Bangkok Art Biennale 2018.

Known for his large-scale installations, which sometimes exceed the space limitations of the art galleries where they show, Hwa’s work often reveals messages grander than their size. One of his most notable art pieces is “Get Together, Gather”—where he transformed used everyday objects like plastic bottles into a vivid installation in front of the Seoul Olympic Stadium. That project got huge public engagement and had zero-waste.

His recent collection “Happy Together 2018” held at Central Embassy includes a 2.5-meter inflatable black robot that was displayed on G/F from Oct 15-20 while a giant golden crown—dubbed the Joker—will land Level G between is still showing until Oct 25. His biggest piece of the whole show comes Nov 1, when his seven-meter tall “Fruit Tree” hits Central Embassy—perfect for that IG snap.
