Feeling lonely in the big city? Maritoey’s adorable work might hit you right in the feels.

Sad Mona Lisa? Check. Sad Sailor Moon? Check. Sad in a watermelon bra and a pineapple hat? Check. Central: The Original Store in Charoenkrung is exhibiting the work of Maritoey's “Lonely Girls” featuring her boxy, sad caricatures of trapped modern life.

Marisa Yamsanor, better known as Maritoey, takes inspiration from Edward Hopper, and the square, boxy shapes to her work are meant to express social confinement, repression, and buried emotion—but somehow still adorable.

The exhibition began on Oct 1 and will run through Oct 30 from Tue-Sun, 10am-6pm. Fans can also check out the artist’s work on TikTok.

Central: The Original Store. 1266 Charoenkrung Rd., 02-267-0412
