Tang Contemporary Art, one of Bangkok’s most progressive art galleries, is back with Joy Land, a solo exhibition by Thai artist Kitti Narod, running from Aug 13-Sep 20

A graduate of the renowned Poh Chang Academy of Arts at the Rajamangala University of Technology, Kitti’s work attempts to express the joys of everyday life and human connectedness, reminding us to appreciate simple pleasures and not take the mundanity of daily life for granted.

Most of Kitti’s artworks incorporate vibrant natural and tropical elements. Kitti also happens to be fond of cats, and, unsurprisingly, his work often features our furry friends. In “Cat Lover,” for instance, the intimate relationship between humans and cats is portrayed in a warm, touching depiction.

As a member of the LGBTQ community, he reveals a part of his identity through the subject of his works, and equality is a recurring theme. His vision of an ideal society, a utopia in which everyone has equal opportunities, seeks to remind us that we can create a better future together.
