River City Bangkok initially announced that it would be hosting an Andy Warhol exhibition in May. After these plans were derailed by the lockdown, the exhibition was postponsed until July. Now, the gallery has finally confirmed that the showcase will officially take place from Aug 12-Nov 24. The exhibit is set to feature a private collection of 128 original artworks and pieces of memorabilia, spread across four categories: Self-portraits and Photos; Celebrity Portraits; Magazine and Album Covers; and, Silk Printing and Others.

According to the organizers, some of the works on display will include “Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali” (1978), “Elvis I and II” (1964-1978) and, one of his more iconic album covers, “The Velvet Underground and Nico” (1967), the banana image that stemmed from Warhol’s experimental “Exploding Plastic Inevitable” series.

Other works include Warhol’s Interview magazine covers, “Brillo Box” (1970), “Dollar” (1981-1982) and the iconic “Campbell’s Soup Cans” (1967).

Single-entry early bird tickets are available from Mar 1-Apr 30 at B300 for adults and B200 for senior citizens and students (ID required) via ticketmelon.com.
