Whether you're looking to party the night away, be part of a murder mystery dinner or even encounter ghoulish creatures amongst the treetops, we've got you covered this Halloween. Here's our pick of top places to hit up this macabre season.

Parties

1-Altitude

1-Altitude presents two evenings of horror parties and a week long Halloween themed bonanza from Oct 25-31. Come decked in your best Halloween outfits to receive complimentary admission to the 1-Altitude Asylum. Highlights include an aptly named “Freddy’s Nightmare Martini” for $18 and beats by DJs Leonard T, Funky T and Jack T.

Clarke Quay

Hosted by 987FM DJs Justin Ang and Vernon A, this year's Halloween party at Clarke Quay features live band performances, stage games and a chance to win up to $200 worth of dining vouchers if you come decked out in your most scream-enducing outfits. There's also complimentary entry to clubs in the area and lots of drink promos throughout the night.

Nightmare on Attica Street

Attica celebrates 10 years of revelry with their annual Halloween party. Be one of the first 100 people to show up to receive drinks mysteriously known as "blood shots". And if you're looking for a little more exclusivity, book the new VVIP Dom Pérignon balcony and listen to the sounds of resident DJs Stingray, Iain (Spex) Thomson, Raw, JCherish and The Partyman.

Ku De Ta

Ku De Ta's all-star DJs Ya5th, Suren, Deepak and Styluxtakut will be helming the decks on Oct 31, playing a mix of club hits to keep you dancing. Those decked in their goriest outfits also stand a chance to win a magnum bottle of Louis Roederer champagne.

The White Rabbit

The White Rabbit at Dempsey pays homage to some of history's greatest sleuths this Halloween. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite crime-busters on Oct 25, be it Sherlock Holmes, Magnum P.I or even the Scooby-Doo gang. There are prizes up for grabs for best-dressed crime-busters.

Woobar

This glam dress-up party in W Hotel Sentosa Cove's bar has DJ Mr Has manning the decks, while drinks are one-for-one housepours all night long. They've also thoughtfully arranged for bus pickups at Vivocity for those who need a little help making their way to the party.

Zouk

Titled “Zouk Slaughter House”, this carnival features multiple themed spaces, creepy clowns and a mysterious host simply known as The Butcher. It's worth dressing up—if you come in full costume you get free and priority entry and a chance to win Sony Xperia T2 smartphones, air tickets to Seoul or a stay at PARKROYAL on Pickering.

Haunted Houses

Forest Adventure

In celebration of Halloween, Forest Adventure at Bedok Reservoir will be holding a night obstacle course featuring over 34 obstacles like trapezes and wobbly logs (and complete with ghosts and ghoulish creatures hiding in the treetops). Spaces are limited, pre-book at [email protected].

USS Halloween Horror Nights

This year's edition from Oct 1-Nov 1 will see four new haunted houses, four new scare zones, and of course, the many different deranged, creepy characters lurking around the park grounds. Queues can get pretty intense at the various rides and attractions, so we recommend getting an Express Pass ($50 extra) in order to skip the lines.

*Scape

SCAPE's Museum of Horrors returns for its fifth edition. Other than a mysterious archeological treasure known as The Relic, visitors can expect realistic diorama sets from horror films such as The Medical Laboratory and Cabin in the Woods. If that hasn't creeped you out enough yet, the exhibition will also showcase the possessed doll from supernatural flick Annabelle.

Sentosa Spooktacular

This year’s horror fest will see all 40,000 square metres of Fort Siloso being transformed into a haunted residential zone, with creepy basements and houses that you can venture into (at your own risk of course). Attractions are inspired by popular Thai horror flicks such as The Swimmers and Countdown.

Food & Drink

Caffé B

Through the month of October, they've got a series of four Halloween-inspired cocktails like the Flaming Flesh ($17) made with grapefruit juice, Patron XO tequila and Bacardi white rum; The Eye ($10) a sweet tipple made with creme de cassis and cranberry juice; and The Witch's Brew ($15) that's a mix of creme de cacao, Smirnoff Black, lychee liqueur and prosecco.

Catalunya

From Oct 31 to Nov 2, Catalunya turns into a giant Jack-O-Lantern with special dishes for the occasion. Expect their signature Spanish dishes like cepe carpaccio with fresh chilled lobster; oxtail stewed in red wine; and pigeon rice with foie gras. Keep the party going on Oct 31 with its series of Late Nights where bartenders  have prepared deadly shots to pair with the thumping music.

The Chop House

Sit down and drink the spooky night away at The Chop House—from Oct 31-Nov 1, choose from their Halloween cocktails and a free flow package of selected house wines, cocktails, prosecco and house pours for just $35.

Senso Ristorante & Bar

Head down to this Italian restaurant's bar for Witching Hour where they've prepared Black Midnight ($16), a special libation made of vodka, 12-year aged balsamic vinegar and topped with olives stuffed with blue cheese. If this savory cocktail isn't your thing, there's also an After Hours Delight promo where prosecco, house wines, beers and spirits are available for $10 on Mondays to Fridays from 8-10pm.

Theatre of the Damned

Play detective at “Theatre of the Damned”, a one-night-only murder mystery dinner party. You’ll be asked to decipher clues, chase down a psychotic killer and even save someone’s life before the clock runs out. If that sounds like hard work, don’t worry as there will be a four-course dinner and welcome cocktails to give you a much-needed energy boost courtesy of Nosh.

Tony's Pizza

If you're all about eating this Halloween, this New York-style pizza parlor has rolled out a ghoulish Monster Pizza Challenge ($50) where you have to chow down a massive 18-inch wheel in 25 minutes. Should you succeed, the pizza is on the house and you get a champion's tee, $50 dining voucher and your name on the Wall of Victors. If you need a little tag team action, you can involve one of your friends, but the catch is that you have to finish the wheel in a mere 12 minutes.

Festivals and shows

Freq’ender at Infinite Studios

This two-day carnival-style festival on Oct 3 and Nov 1 features over 20 international and regional artists, including Grammy-nominated producer Morgan Page and German techno duo 2ManyDJs. Aside from music arts, the massive venue will be home to roving dancers, acrobats and freak show performers, along with food and drink stalls.

Expired Expectations at The Sultan Hotel

Besides cabaret-inspired musical performances, partake in several carnival games testing your alcohol tolerance, or be subject to a tarot reading session determining your fate. There’s also carnival bites like popcorn and candy floss in case you get hungry later in the night.

Sports Events

Bootcamp on Elm Street

Aileron Wellness is offering a very different kind of Halloween celebration without a spooky-themed cocktail in sight. Participants can expect a dynamic workout in which they'll be lifting pumpkins instead of kettlebells and pulling nooses instead of gym rings. The night will conclude with a spine-chilling yoga sequence, and the best-dressed bootcampers will stand to win Nike and gym vouchers.

Run for your Lives: Halloween Edition

Returning to Singapore for its second edition, this zombie-themed 3-5km race is definitely not for the faint of heart. Participants can choose to either sign up as a survivor or a zombie (with the goal for survivors being to get to the Safe Zone with at least one life intact, and the goal for the zombies being to unleash the terror of the undead).
